What do you know about miracles?

I have some questions. Do you believe that miracles can be ordinary events? I mean, does the miraculous have to be unbelievable or can it be something that happens everyday?

The dictionary says a miracle is a event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God.

Does the birth of a child defy the laws of nature? What about breathing? When we include or exclude the ordinary from the miraculous does it make the miraculous more or less believable? Could it be that we don't really believe in miracles because we do not see them for what they are?

I'm not sure that came out right....What do you think?

What great questions...questions that make me pause and think. In the midst of asking for great things, mountain moving things, things that would screm of the greatness of God, how often do I forget to give thanks for the small things, the little things, the things that whisper of His majesty. And yes, those can be miracles too. Those things, when we stop to realize them for what they are, inspire us to keep going, to keep hoping, to keep believing that the mountain movings CAN happen. Thank you for helping me stop and see, what God is doing right now, in this moment, as I listen to the peaceful snores of children sleeping, is a miracle in and of itself. Love you!

Amy, those two children sleeping next to you certainly are miracles. I'm continuing to pray for mountain moving miracles for you my friend.

I believe that sometimes people do not see the miracle because they have closed their eyes to see it. It is something that happened in Bible times but not today is the common thought I once heard. But I can testify to miracle upon miracle of what the Lord has done for my family from Diapers, food, clothes, car payments, shoes, etc. I believe that if we choose to take the time to reflect on the Lord we will then truly begin to see all the miracles he is giving us. I once heard it explained that when choosing which route to take home, we possibly could be waiting for the Holy Spirit to direct our path down the safest route home. And the safe arrival would be our miracle. I couldn't think of a time where I had ever had a thought to let the Holy Spirit "lead me home" and then I realized that was what I wanted. For the Holy Spirit to lead and guide each and every step, I would appreciate the miracle of things that didn't happen as much as I would the things that did. Thanks for the thought provoking questions! What made you think all them up? Something must have stirred the thoughts!
