Color Walk

Color through Emma's eyes (and veiwfinder):

Em's latest version of the color walk was to take pictures of the colors she saw in nature. This was a few weeks ago when color was a bit scarce. My view was so different than hers. She tended to look down - where she was walking - for the colors.

Red

Orange

Yellow

Green

Blue was the most difficult... we were almost home when finally she looked up and giggled. Purple (look close)
Brown
“Circle… take her measure… gaze long… climb …

Then you can tell the next generation,

detail by detail, the story of God.”

Came across this in my reading today:

"Our God is in heaven;
he does whatever pleases him."
Psalm 115:3

God chose to save us simply because it pleased Him.
That makes me smile!

On the night stand

Books on my nightstand:

Four delicious books are sitting on my nightstand. I can hardly decide which to read as I fall into bed. Each wonderful and recommended in its own right, but mixed together - a virtual feast!

Welcome be thou, fair, fresshe May.

-Geoffrey Chaucer

On May Day the children left may baskets at our neighbors' doors.
And we danced around a Maypole.
That's the month we planted the garden.
We had delectable elevenish parties with iced tea
and cookies under the crab apple tree.

Worship Dance

A dance class focusing on worship.
Doesn't it sound too good to be true?! Here are some of the topics that our young girls discussed during the devotion portion of this 12 week class: God is our strength, refuge, light, etc. God is always worthy of our praise. Each day before practice, Em would put on her black dance pants and look through her drawer, trying on shirts, raising her arms to see if her tummy showed, finally settling on something pretty, but modest. That is good peer pressure.:) I love that lovely young women in their late teens and early twenties are using their influence to inspire little ones to cover their bodies and use them for worshipping God.

Emma's class danced to the song, You Are My All In All. My eyes were full with tears as I watched these little ones learn to worship in new ways. I have been moved by my daughter's response to God in the past, but as I see her capacity to respond to God in purposeful ways develop, my heart overflows. What can be more fulfilling that watching our children walk in the ways of the Lord?
Since my youth, God,
you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
Psalm 71:17
